A search of the board as of 5/05/22 indicates this is the only running ’74-’92 2-stroke OMC 15hp outboard listed so not only is it the “price leader” for the model, it’s the only one available. Use Advanced Search for Sold Items; I sold a 1983 Johnson 15 similar to this to a buyer in Little River, SC just a couple of months ago; I’m now back North for the summer. I get these motors running and running right! A good running 2-stroke OMC 15 – these motors are always in demand so owning one is better than money in the bank – a bank balance is nice but it won’t take you fishing! Compression on this powerhead is 120 psi on both holes cranking it with the electric starter which is not included – sorry, it’s already sold. This is a 1989 powerhead transplanted onto a slightly older “stack” or “leg” due to midsection and lower unit issues on the traded-in motor. The lower unit was disassembled, cleaned, and reassembled with a good replacement bearing carrier. The gears and clutch dog are excellent; no visible wear. Carb was cleaned and new diaphragm put in the fuel pump. Naturally it has a new water pump impeller and a powerhead base [aka exhaust] gasket, but what it did need is rather immaterial at this point; all the maintenance issues have been taken care of to spare you the headache. On the first start of the day just prime it and use the choke and it’ll fire up on the 2nd or 3rd pull; once warmed up it’ll start with a short pull to get one cylinder over TDC. It idles down to a tick-over without a miss. Pictures show it after it was wire brushed and I currently have it primed with the correct zinc chromate paint. The 1974-up 13 cubic inch 2-stroke 15hp is among the best-selling “JohnnyRude’s” ever made; they’re ideal for a 2-man fishing boat like a 14 ft jon boat, semi-V aluminum hull. or hard-bottom inflatable. I will always buy a repairable OMC 15 as they’re sure-fire money-makers. It’s priced right – I could sell it for less via local ad sites – it wouldn’t take a Rocket Scientist to figure out how to pursue that particular purchasing venue! – but I have to cover the “pound of flesh” – and then some! – that eBay takes out of a sale so it’s at least a hundred bucks more on this board than I’d sell it for on the popular fee-free site in my local area – do the math! I will assist with shipping by taking it to your choice of carrier within a 20 mile radius, but due to the high cost of bulky items the cost of shipping is on you via your own CC. Remember that “feeBay” basically steals from sellers by charging us a fee on shipping costs which is a profit-killer. Therefore, the item is listed as “Local Pickup Only” and she doesn’t “budge” until I receive cleared funds. If you pick up in person you will get a demo in a test tank. Thanks for looking.
