HF/SSB antennas require a high standard of installation to work correctly. The antenna is connected to an antenna tuner through a high voltage insulator and it is extremely important that the antenna location and grounding system are correctly chosen so that the system will radiate effectively.

The longest possible antenna should be chosen for each installation. The performance of shorter antennas at HF frequencies is usually poor, particularly at the lower frequencies.

The antenna should be installed in a position free from obstruction, and as far away as possible from other upright objects such as masts.

The ground system is a key part of the overall antenna system. A poor ground system is the most common reason for poor antenna performance. Consult an experienced HF radio installer if you have any doubts about the ground system.

SEAMASTER PRO SERIES RANGE:

“No cable” removable antennas for owners of smaller boats who want to remove and refit the antennas as required. These antennas are generally less than 2m in height and have 3dBi of gain, and are fitted with nylon ferrules

“Hard wired” antennas for those owners who don’t need to remove the antenna. As with the Seamaster Pro Series, these antennas are generally less than 2m in height and have 3dBi of gain. This range includes mast mount antennas and cables.

LONGREACH PRO SERIES RANGE:

“No cable” removable antennas for owners of bigger boats and those looking for high gain, high performance antennas. This range features a number of antennas above 2m in height and with up to 9dBi gain, including a wide range of cellular antenna options, all with polished stainless steel ferrules

LONGREACH RANGE:

“Hard wired” antennas which combine elegant looks with excellent

performance. Most antennas in this range are over 2m and offer up to 6dbi gain. The Longreach Series includes HF/SSB antennas of up to 7.3m, all with polished stainless steel ferrules.

DEEPSEA RANGE:

Heavy duty antennas designed for installation on commercial vessels and coast stations. 35mm industrial grade fiberglass and stainless steel mounting sleeves give these antennas unmatched durability. All antennas in this range are terminated with a recessed N-type socket.
