A basic bilge pump switch panel with a dedicated fuse and a Red indicator lamp. A selector switch allows the pump to either be switched OFF, left in AUTO relying on the float switch or operated manually.

Bilge Pump Switches

The Johnson Ultima Electronic Bilge Pump Switches use detector cells that detect disruptions caused by water and fluids.

There is a range of plastic skin fittings suitable for use with all the pumps.

Easy to clean standard bilge pumps feature a removable pump/motor cartridge. This allows the pump to be removed for cleaning or replacement without disconnecting the pipework or pump casing.

Cartridges can be quickly removed by hand without the need for tools. Pumps benefit from extended service lives due to the discharge water being circulated around the motor to aid cooling. Either type of Johnson bilge switch can be easily mounted on the integral switch bracket.

All pumps are for 12 Volts DC.

A bracket for bulkhead mounting is also available.

pump applications. Heavy duty motors with stainless steal (SS2343) shaft and tough thermoplastic bodies provide for a long pump life.

With the Johnson Pump automatic switch installed, the pump automatically comes on when there is water in the bilge and shuts off when it is dry. Submersible bilge pumps are not self-priming.

The basic requirements of  bilge pumps are that they fit the available space and deliver the bilge water over the side with minimum electric current consumption. They shouldn’t block easily, and if they do, they should be easy to take apart and clear.

Finally, bilge pumps must be durable and be water-resistant.
