JCS Hi-Torque Ltd is the sole manufacturer of Hi-Grip® zinc plated and Hi-Grip Stainless® worm drive hose clips.

JCS Hi-Torque also manufacture the Hi-Torque stainless hose clamp range which includes Tamtorque® sign fixing clamps, Multi-Torque adjustable stainless steel banding and Hi-Torque straps.

Every part that is used in their product range (apart from the mini clip) is produced by JCS Hi-Torque Ltd at their factory in Sudbury. We believe the ONLY way to ensure quality control is to keep all of the manufacturing process in-house, from tool-making through to plating and packing.

The Hi-Grip® zinc plated and Hi-Grip Stainless® worm drive hose clips are produced to BS5315:1991 standards and are Kitemark approved. Other approvals include Lloyd’s Register Type Approval for Hi-Grip Stainless® and Hi-Torque hose clamps making them the number one choice for the marine industry due to their high quality and performance.

JCS Hi-Torque Ltd also holds the ISO 9001:2000 approval together with approvals from N.A.A.T.O and the MOD.

Other products within the range include Hi-Grip Wing Screw® hose clips for garden and laboratory applications, M6 P-clips (zinc plated and stainless steel versions), M10 P-clips (zinc plated and stainless steel versions)and mini-clips (zinc plated only).

Hi-Grip® worm drive hose clips.

Hi-Grip® worm drive hose clips are manufactured to the British Standard BS5315:1991 specification which is the most exacting standard for the production of hose clips in the world.

The internal faces of Hi-Grip® hose clips are smooth and the edges of the band are rounded to ensure the ultimate protection of rubber hoses. Other hose clips have sharp band edges where the band has been slit from a large sheet of metal or the band has just been left undressed resulting in damage to the rubber or plastic hose when the hose clip is tightened onto it.

Some hose clips, noticeably those from overseas manufacturers, even have perforated bands which have burrs left on the inside face of the clip causing further damage to the hoses they are fitted to. If fitted to soft hoses these clips create a “hedge-hogging” effect whereby the hose is squeezed through the perforations in the band and the sharp burrs then act like a guillotine effectively shaving the protruding hose.

The quality of Hi-Grip® hose clips is taken very seriously by the production staff at JCS Hi-Torque Ltd and the minimum failure torque performance as rated by the British Standard BS5315:1991 is always exceeded by a good margin to ensure our Kitemark approval is maintained.

Attention to detail is also very strong at JCS Hi-Torque Ltd and this can be seen quite clearly in the production of our screws and in particular the screw heads and screw driver slots. The hexagon head is sharp and well defined with the screw driver slot placed perfectly in the centre across two flats. The hexagon head of the Hi-Grip® hose clip fits a 7mm socket perfectly, which is just another example of the good engineering that goes into producing Hi-Grip® hose clips.

It is not unknown for even well known brands to supply screws in their hose clips that are poorly formed, which can allow a socket to slip whilst tightening the clips. The screw driver slots are also sometimes placed haphazardly in the hexagon head with burrs left inside to foul the screw driver if used.

Hi-Grip Stainless® hose clips are made to the same exacting standards as Hi-Grip® zinc plated partners and have become the marine industry favourite for all above waterline applications due to their high quality and performance.

They are made entirely from 18/8 marine quality stainless steel andare ideal for salt water and many other highly corrosive environments.

They have Lloyd’s Register Type Approval for marine, offshore and industrial use as well as BSI Kitemark approvals.

Hi-Grip Wing Screw® (zinc plated and stainless steel ranges)

The Hi-Grip Wing Screw hose clip was specifically designed to answer the problem of frequently removed hoses such as found in the garden, home laboratory and industry. The unique dovetail locking and side lugs of the wing plate guarantee a firm fixture that outlasts those of other designs. A plastic wing plate cover is supplied as standard which enables a greater tightness to be obtained and is kinder to unprotected fingers. The super free-running and high efficiency worm drive gives excellent sealing.

Hi-Grip ®carton & clip dispensers

Hi-Grip® carton and clip dispensers are available for either, van, wall or counter location to promote the sales of Hi-Grip® hose clips. The wall and van mounted units hold 680 clips in retail packs. The counter unit holds 135 clips and both are available for zinc plated and stainless Hi-Grip®.

Hi-Torque stainless hose clamps

Hi-Torque Heavy Duty Stainless steel hose clamps have been specifically designed for tough and wire reinforced hoses and for when an extra margin of safety and reliability is required. They have been proved time and again to be more efficient than nut & bolt type clamps due to their more uniform tightening which gives higher sealing pressure.

Unfortunately Hi-Torque hose clamps are mistaken very often for normal worm drive hose clips but they are in fact 3 times stronger than ordinary hose clips and have a band tensile strength of some 1150 N/mm² (approximately 75 tons/in²) making them incredibly strong.

Like the Hi-Grip Stainless range Hi-Torque stainless hose clamps also have Lloyd’s Register Type Approval for use in marine, offshore and industrial applications.

It should be noted that, to date, there are no nut & bolt clamps that have been awarded this prestigious approval, mainly because they do not perform as well as JCS Hi-Torque hose clamps in sealing applications. The misconception is that because nut & bolt clamps “look” strong they will outperform the more flexible Hi-Torque clamp but, of course, this is not the case.

JCS Hi-Torque hose clamps are specifically approved by Lloyd’s Register for the critical application of sealing wet diesel exhaust hoses.

The Hi-Torque design has a unique “Straight Line” housing, which ensures that every thread of the screw is fully engaged with the band. This special feature together with a high tensile band and hardened rolled thread screw means that Hi-Torque clamps have more approximately three times the strength of ordinary worm drive hose clips.

All Hi-Torque stainless hose clamps have fully rounded edges to give the best possible protection to the hose.

Hi-Torque hose clamps can be supplied made entirely from either BS304 (18/8 marine grade) stainless steel or BS316 (18/10) stainless steel.

Multi-Torque adjustable banding

JCS have coupled the strength of Hi-Torque hose clamps with the convenience of being able to produce instant hose clamps to any desired diameter from a kit. Multi-Torque is significantly stronger than other adjustable banding products. By simply cutting off the required length from a continuous banding roll and engaging one end of the band into each housing of the Multi-Torque connector a hose clamp is made.

Multi-Torque adjustable banding kits have proved invaluable as emergency repair kits for all kinds of applications in the field or out on the sea.

Tamtorque® sign fixing clamps

Tamtorque ® sign fixing clamps have been designed for clamping signs of all types to round, square, hexagon or any unusual shaped post giving a quick and reliable fix every time. They do not have sharp edges which can snag or cut and, unlike other banding systems, can be easily re-used or readjusted.

Since their introduction Tamtorque® sign fixing clamps have been used for many varied applications where security is important. They have been used to fix waste bins, Christmas lighting and hanging baskets in town centres, banners and for securing inspection doors on street lighting. They are even used to secure surveillance cameras and traffic speed cameras in many countries throughout the world.

Tamtorque® sign fixing clamps are manufactured from high strength stainless steel and have a hardened tamper resistant screw with a unique recessed seven-sided socket. This means that they can only be tightened or released with a special Tamtorque® screw bit.

An auto locking safety buckle ensures the free end of the band is both safe and tidy. The unique safety buckle was developed especially for Tamtorque® and is covered by patents in many countries.

M6 & M10 P-Clips

JCS P-clips are available in two ranges for 6mm and 10mm bolts in both zinc plated finish and 18/8 stainless steel. They are used mainly for supporting pipes, cables hoses and groups of cables anywhere where it is necessary to present a neat and tidy installation.

Two types of TPE liner with different service temperatures can be supplied and the snug fitting TPE rubber liner absorbs vibration and prevents chafing of pipe or cable, and water penetration into the clamping area. The TPE liners are UV and ozone resistant.

The zinc plated version is heavily electro zinc plated on all surfaces including the edges for the very best corrosion resistance and the stainless version is made from marine quality 18/8 stainless steel.
