Warrington t.01925 727519
Fiddlers Ferry Boatyard was opened in 1985 and was owned by Eric Bergquist who built many different types of boat but the most recent being the Winkle Brig, a small gaff rigged sailing boat.
The yard was sold in 2000 and since then stopped building boats from scratch, now offering a DIY facility in the North West, a Merseyside boatyard a Cheshire boatyard, for local yachtsmen to work on their boats with the support of the boatyard staff.
Access to the boatyard and adjoining Fiddlers Ferry Yachthaven can be gained from the River Mersey via a set of lock gates and passing into the Sankey / St Helens canal, reportedly the oldest stretch of canal in the country !
We have a 25 tonne mobile crane on site so boats can be transferred onto the hardstanding of the boatyard lifting craneage North West. The boatyard offers a full range of services, boat mechanical repair and overhaul and new engine installations. Re-rigging of boats both standing and running rigging can be made and fitted to suit each boat. Mast repairs , minor or major can be undertaken saving the expense of fitting a new mast should the worst happen.
Repair or manufacture of fiberglass hulls and panels can be undertaken along with gelcoat repairs and osmosis treatment, North West grp repair.
Stainless steel fabrications of fuel tanks, water tanks, pushpits and pulpits, bow rollers, mast tabernackles or any custom items can all be made to order in our Cheshire fabrication workshop.
All the work carried out at the Cheshire boatyard is done by time served craftsmen who are also boatowners or sailors and appreciate the quality of workmanship required to go to sea.
