The Dieppe Dash has been conceived as a way of both inexperienced and experienced boat owners and crew enjoying a cross channel trip and Easter weekend in Dieppe.

Sussex Yachts established this event as a way of connecting with our customers and giving them a reason to interact with fellow boat owners. Setting a benchmark for preparing of their vessels at the beginning of the season and maximize the use of their boats during the year.

Dieppe is the perfect destination for the Dash, the port entrance is safe and the beautiful town has fantastic facilities.

The event is a rally with a serious IRC & PY race fleet entry too. In addition to racing yachts, the rally is open to all boats, whether sailing or motor boats that want a more leisurely cruise to Dieppe.

The aim is to encourage new members from other yachts in Brighton Marina and all South Coast Marinas to join an event that will bring together the cruiser, motor boats, multi-hulls and racers alike into one fun weekend. The plan is to give confidence to the first time channel crossers to cross in the company of more experienced English Channel veterans.

Each year, Sussex Yachts organize preparatory evenings for the event, to help participants gain confidence and knowledge about cross channel sailing. There are safety briefings for life raft/lifejacket deployment and use of flares and navigational techniques for crossing the shipping lanes.

North Sails Loft

As a North sails loft, we offer two evenings of trim talks for both novice & experienced sailors.

A great selection of top prizes are available each year to promote healthy competition, but even if you are not lucky enough to pick up one of these, every yacht entered will pick up commemorative Dieppe Dash sailing merchandise, so ensure there is something for everyone.

The Dieppe Dash is a way to enhance the community spirit of sailors along the South Coast. Sussex Yachts team of experienced sailors are on hand to give advise and tips on using your boat and help give our customers the confidence and support needed to get the best from their boats, whether they be cruisers or racers.
