MCA Coding for commercially operated vessels
These inspections are carried out on commercially operated sail and motor vessels up to 24 metres in length for compliance to the Maritime and Coastguard Agency code of practice for small commercial vessels (SCV).
The coding is carried out through the IIMS (International Institute of Marine Surveying) an MCA approved SCV certification authority.

PRE-PURCHASE FULL CONDITION SURVEYS
This is the most detailed condition survey. This non destructive survey examines all accessible areas and specified equipment.

BASIC STRUCTURAL SURVEYS
This survey type may be used when a full condition survey is considered unnecessary. For instance when the vessel is nearly new or when equipment and/or machinery have been separately inspected or are not required to be inspected.
